Vanni Vision Welfare event by VTF
Vanni Vision was established in a place called Vanni, which got its name after Pandara Vanniyan. Vanni is located between Vavuniya and Jaffna in North of Sri Lanka. In August 2016, Vithu Trust Fund had the privilege to help a lot of visually challenged, deaf, and physically disabled people.
- The two-storey building seen in the picture was built by Vithu Trust Fund for the people in need. The second floor hall is used for conducting yoga and computer classes for free. We had support from a local NGO, Saiva Mahasabai. A small food carnival was arranged and we had one-to-one talk knowing about their issues. Some petty expenses like repairing wheelchair were attended immediately and the rest were noted for future implementation.
- Glasses, hearing aids, canes, and walking sticks were provided to the needed, which made them feel supported and increased their trust and interest in life.
- A Micro loan was also arranged and given to those in emergency need, also given to some which they can use for starting a small business like cattle rearing.
- My family and relatives helped in this event. My son eight years was able to witness these so that it could have an impact on him and can bring him to the footpaths of charity and the real meaning of life.
- Children were encouraged to show their individual talents and were applauded by the spectators.
